Rethinking Liability Regimes in an AI World

Panelists gave an overview of liability regimes in India, with a special focus on technology and AI. The session deep dived into the application of liability regimes to AI systems and the mapping of AI harms against Indian law. Participants engaged in an interactive and lively discussion on some case studies.  

Shri Bhuvnesh Kumar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, presented a comprehensive overview of how Indian policymakers are thinking about liability of AI systems. The workshop involved over 40 high-level stakeholders and experts from the legal community, think-tanks, government and industry. We were honoured to host the Cyberlaw division of the Ministry of Electronics and IT at the event.
